Pull Cord
A pendant lamp with a cord you actually pull: drag the bead down and the cord stretches under your hand, release past the threshold and the room floods warm — the cord snapping back into a couple of swings while dust motes drift up through the light. Let go short of the threshold and nothing happens, which is exactly what a real cord does.
